New LG G3 case lets you make calls, take photos

A week ahead of the launch of its new flagship smartphone, LG G3, the South Korean electronics giant has officially unveiled a new QuickCircle Case for the phone.

The case's UI had earlier appeared online in leaked screenshots courtesy EVLeaks, the Twitter account known for posting smartphone related leaks.

The folder-style case lets users access various features of the G3 without having to open the cover. Users can check the time, place calls, send text messages, capture photos, listen to music or get updates related to health stats directly from the circular window.

The QuickCircle Case comes in five colors: Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Aqua Mint, Indian Pink and is designed to protect the side edges of the G3 and provide the best "grip-ability" as per LG. The window also lights up with a soft, white, circular glow whenever the case is opened/closed or a call/text message is received.

LG has also posted a video on YouTube, showcasing the case.

LG will also release a software development kit (SDK), next month to allow developers to customize LG G3 smartphones to perform customized functions with the QuickCircle Case.

Other than the software functions, the case is also compatible with Qi interface standard for wireless charging.

It's worth pointing out that LG had released a similar QuickWindow case for its last flagship, LG G2, a week prior to its official launch.
