South Korean manufacturer LG has unveiled the 4G-enabled version of its G2 smartphone in India. It is one of the very few smartphones in the India that run on India's TD-LTE 4G network standard. The other devices that can operate on TD-LTE network are Xolo LT900 and Apple's iPhone 5S and 5C.

The 16GB version of the new LG G2 4G has been priced at Rs 46,000, compared to the Rs 41,500 price tag of the previously-launched 3G model of the device. Similarly, the 32GB model of the device will cost Rs 49,000. This is Rs 4500 higher than the price of the corresponding 3G-enabled version, which is priced at Rs 44,500. Both the 16 and 32GB variants of LG G2 4G will hit the market in the next two weeks.

Apart from 4G compatibility, there is no difference between the two versions of LG G2. The key specifications of the smartphone are 5.2-inch Full HD screen, Android 4.2 operating system, 13MP rear camera, 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM and 3,000mAh battery.

The launch of the 4G variant of G2 is in line with the company's strategy to garner at least 10% share in the Indian smartphone market, LG India managing director Soon Kwon said.

LG also announced that it will launch the Lifeband Touch fitness tracker in India in the second half of the year. Unveiled at CES 2014, LG Lifeband Touch keeps track of the users' calorie count and number of steps they walk in a day and shows fitness-related data on its OLED screen. This device also syncs with smartphones and can display data like incoming calls and time.
